Tactical Casualty Care

Tactical Edition / Sauvetage au Combat

Tactical Casualty Care Training Workshop & Curriculum

An advanced skills lab and simulation centre for tactical casualty care under threat — for the medical and rescue services of the military, police and civil protection. Built on Professional Emergency Care as its clinical foundation.

Why tactical casualty care?

In tactical environments, care must be delivered under threat, with delayed evacuation and limited resources. The quality of training decides whether a casualty survives the first minutes.

Standard emergency care is not enough here. Tactical casualty care follows the international doctrines of TCCC and TECC and the French Sauvetage au Combat, with the phases Care under Fire, Tactical Field Care and Tactical Evacuation Care and the MARCH algorithm. All invasive and surgical skills are trained as simulation under qualified, in part physician-led instruction.

Who is this program for?

  • Military medical and health services
  • Police tactical medical support (TEMS) and special units
  • Gendarmerie and security forces
  • Combat medics, tactical paramedics and unit physicians
  • In short: the medical and rescue structures of the armed forces, police and civil protection.

Key reasons for this program

  • Massive hemorrhage is the leading preventable cause of death on the battlefield. Tourniquet, wound packing and junctional bleeding control under threat must be mastered.
  • Severe penetrating and blast trauma. Gunshot, stabbing, amputation and explosion injuries require tactical knowledge following the TCCC and TECC principles and the C-ABCDE approach.
  • Airway emergencies require tactical and surgical skills. Positioning, supraglottic airways and the surgical airway (cricothyrotomy) must be practised.
  • Thoracic trauma. Tension pneumothorax, chest seals, needle decompression and chest drainage must be recognised and treated.
  • Care under fire and evacuation. Casualty extraction, CASEVAC and TACEVAC and prolonged field care must be practised as a team.
  • Proof of quality and doctrine compliance. Units must show that training follows TCCC, TECC and Sauvetage au Combat standards, including documentation and debriefing.

What the program trains on

01  Tactical Bleeding Control & Tourniquet. Tourniquets (CAT, SOF-T, SWAT-T), pulsatile bleeding systems, wound packing and hemostatics applied under threat.

02  Trauma & TCCC Moulage. Hyper-realistic and wearable TCCC moulage, trauma trainers with knife, gunshot and blast wounds and casualty simulation kits.

03  Tactical & Prehospital Care. Surgical cut suit, 6-in-1 tactical casualty care trainer, open surgical simulation, advanced surgical skills packages (lung, liver, spleen, kidney, intestine), thoracic expansion package and full-body trauma simulator.

04  Tactical Airway. Cricothyrotomy and coniotomy trainers, tracheotomy models and difficult-airway simulators.

05  Thoracic Trauma. Chest seals, decompression needles and chest-drainage simulation.

06  Monitoring, CASEVAC & Scenario Control. Simulated patient monitors, wireless scenario control, debriefing and evacuation training.

07  Hygiene & Consumables. Protective equipment, disinfection, replacement parts and training consumables.

Scope and certification. Invasive and surgical skills are trained exclusively as simulation under qualified, in part physician-led instruction and do not confer authorisation to perform invasive procedures independently. Certification and the scope of practice are defined internally by the medical service of the respective armed forces or police. DMH acts as a training and equipment partner, not as the certifying authority.
